In the past, we mainly supplied power-related peripheral equipment, but now we need much deeper integration with the computing core (chips and storage). Power delivery has to move from the traditional “rack-level” or “server-level” approach to a much more granular “chip-level” approach (PowertoChips), managing the energy consumption of individual chips and how power is delivered to them. Meanwhile, the technology itself is also evolving—for example, the shift from AC to DC, and from mechanical equipment to solid-state power equipment based on semiconductors (such as IGBT chips).
